Med Laser Surgical Center is seeking a motivated full time -Charge Nurse to join our team.
Med-Laser Surgical Center, located in Montebello, CA and a valuable member of DLP Eye Group, is a premier outpatient surgical facility specializing in a full range of advanced ophthalmologic, optometric and optical services and procedures in a family friendly environment. Job Summary
The Charge Nurse, serving as the nursing support for the center Administrator, will be the main point of contact for RNs regarding patient care, scheduling, and other day-to-day responsibilities. They also perform the duties of a Registered Nurse daily and provide supervision and guidance to the nursing staff, stepping in as a staff nurse when necessary due to staffing needs.

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $72.12/hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary

- Manages nursing operations according to policies, protocols, and regulations.
- Uses data for continuous quality improvement and coordinates with Quality Management Committee.
- Ensures clinical care meets standards, collaborating with Center Manager and physicians.
- Handles clinical relations, including recruitment, training, and associate engagement.
- May act as risk manager and handle safety issues and claims reporting.
- Performs clinical duties as necessary.
- Takes on additional duties as requested.
- Participates in QAPI and Safety Program.
- Aware of hazardous materials and maintains SDS sheets.
- Assists with clerical and recordkeeping tasks as needed.

- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
- Baccalaureate degree preferred or work related experience.
- Current unencumbered California RN License
- Three (3) years + experience in perioperative setting or procedure healthcare. Relevant work history in environments that require surgical procedures and patient care. Experience in optical procedures preferred.
- One (1) year + nursing leadership experience
- BLS & ACLS required
- Independent decision making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
